Scholarship/Grant Message Board

It is never too late to start finding new ways to pay for college.  Every month, new scholarships and grants will be added to this page.  You do not need to be a senior to apply.  A lot of scholarships/grants are actually open to various grade levels.

When applying for scholarships/grants, keep these tips in mind:
  • Meet the deadline: Scholarships/Grants usually have a deadline that the application and any supporting evidence needs to be turned in. Look to see when the deadline is and whether the individual/company needs to (1) receive the completed application or (2) have it postmarked by that day.
  • Satisfy criteria:  Some scholarships/grants have certain criteria that need to be met.  Make sure that you satisfy those criteria or you will not be eligible.  (Example: If a scholarship is for a female high school senior interested in majoring in Engineering, make sure you are a female high school senior interested in Engineering.)
  • Supplemental material:  Some scholarships/grants require essays, letters of recommendations, resumes, grades, etc.  If they do, you must submit these materials with your application.  You cannot turn in your application by the deadline and then submit the supplemental materials afterwards.  Turn in everything on time.
  • Don't wait until the last minute:  Do not wait until the day before to start on a scholarship/grant.  Waiting until the minute will not allow you to spend the right amount of time to turn in your best quality of work.
If you have any questions or need help on your scholarships/grants, let Ms. Woo know.  Remember, don't wait until the last minute.
