On February 9, 2018, Dan Katzir, CEO of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, attended the counselor appreciation luncheon during which all counselors from 25 Alliance schools attended and announced the Alliance 2018 Counselor of the Year winners. The Alliance's dedicated team of counselors work tirelessly to support our scholars and their families as they prepare for college––a process that begins in sixth grade.
Our counselors’ work is multifaceted and their impact is life-changing. They organize informational workshops for scholars and parents, provide academic support plans, and set-up college visits. They also help scholars develop skills that are critical for college completion, such as time management and problem solving techniques.
But they also develop the whole child. Counselors work with scholars to discover their strengths, interests and passions while also being an attentive ear when a trusted advisor is needed. The close counselor/scholar relationship launches our scholars on a successful college journey and empowers them to dream big!
