General Information

The Marc and Eva Stern Math and Science School (Stern MASS) is a free, public charter school that was authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). As a public charter school, Stern MASS abides by California State Education Code that requires it to "admit all pupils who wish to attend the school." However, if the number of pupils who wish to attend Stern MASS exceeds the school's capacity, attendance (except for existing pupils) "shall be determined by a public random drawing."
Students with Disabilities
Stern MASS welcomes applications from students with disabilities. The Stern MASS special education program is designed to support students with disabilities. Students who may benefit from our program include, advanced learners, children with specific learning disabilities, or any other variation that calls for assessment, intervention or other individualized program development. The Stern MASS special education program focuses on inclusive and collaborative models of service delivery. The law requires that, to the maximum extent appropriate, children with disabilities be educated with abled peers in "the least restrictive environment," and Stern MASS works collaboratively with parents, students, staff, and LAUSD to meet these requirements.
